Logan Paul's Pet Pig Pearl Neglected, Re-Homed at Animal Sanctuary

A pig that was at one point owned by YouTube star Logan Paul was found neglected in a field recently. The pig, named Pearl, was rescued by The Gentle Barn, an animal sanctuary based in Santa Clarita, California, about 30 miles north of downtown Los Angeles.

In an Instagram video posted today, The Gentle Barn did not specifically name Paul as the former owner of Pearl, but a series of tweets from 2018 and 2020 confirms that he did at the very least own the pig.

A 2018 Twitter post by Paul indicated that he possessed Pearl as a tiny piglet. A since-deleted Instagram page for Pearl, at the time with only two posts, had 135,000 followers.

The Gentle Barn did not indicate that Paul was responsible for Pearl's neglect. In their Instagram reel, The Gentle Barn depicted and described the the pig's injuries and predicament. Below is the caption written by The Gentle Barn:

She’ll NEVER be alone again ❤️ Pearl was found abandoned in a field next to another pig who had died. She came to us with tattered ears and a potentially life-threatening infection in her uterus that has since been healed. She’s clearly been through so much trauma that we can’t begin to imagine, but she’s now safe with us at The Gentle Barn.

From what we’ve been told, it’s believed she was purchased originally from a breeder by an influencer. People often buy “mini pigs” or “teacup pigs” for clout online, believing they will stay small. When they inevitably grow very large and have many unexpected needs, they’re sadly discarded. While we don’t know everything she’s been through in her past, we know her life is now filled with friends, nutritious foods, the highest quality care, and so much love.

It’s thanks to your support that we’re able to say yes to rescues like Pearl. Thank you for being a part of our work to rescue and rehabilitate animals with nowhere else to go.

The story is developing, with no statement from Paul as the morning of January 9th. But The Gentle Barn affirms that Pearl is now safe and no longer alone. The heart-wrenching video can be watched here: https://www.instagram.com/reel/CnNBzUbIA0U/?igshid=ZmMyNmFmZTc%3D
